Police seek man after child approached in Pottsville

POLICE have appealed for information after a suspected child approach at Pottsville.

About 4.45pm Saturday, a group of children were walking south on a footpath along Tweed Coast Rd, near Cudgera Ave.

One of the children was walking several metres behind his friends when a small black sedan, which may have been a Hyundai Getz, pulled up beside him

The male driver stopped and spoke to the child, who ran off.

The man was described as being about 50 years old, caucasian, clean shaven with brown hair and wearing a white T shirt.

Police have appealed for members of the community who may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist in identifying the vehicle or the male to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
