600 marijuana plants found in Baffle Creek drug raid

GLADSTONE detectives uncovered a cache of hashish after finding a significant marijuana crop in Baffle Creek.

Police executed a search warrant at an address in Muller St, Baffle Creek, address on Thursday morning, after ongoing investigations led to the crop being pinpointed in that vicinity.

Gladstone CIB's Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Peachey said the ensuing search resulted in a sizeable haul of marijuana plants.

"This morning a search warrant was executed at an address in Baffle Creek where we located a cannabis crop with just under 600 plants," he said.

Charges were still to be laid as arrests were yet to be made. However, investigations continued after the uncovering of the stash.

Det Snr Sgt Peachey said detectives were seeking anyone with information regarding the crop to come forward and contact police.

The scene was processed on Thursday morning, and the crop of almost 600 plants destroyed.

The drug bust haul came a day after local detectives discovered a clandestine drug laboratory at a Watford St address in Telina as they continued their campaign to stamp out drug trafficking and production in Gladstone.
