Policewoman 'utilised firearm while affected by alcohol'

A QUEENSLAND Police officer has been stood down after she allegedly utilised a firearm while off duty and affected by alcohol.

The 51-year-old female Senior Constable from the Northern Region has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.

The officer is the subject of an investigation after allegedly attending to rostered duties whilst affected by alcohol, failing to properly store and secure accoutrements and failing to treat people with respect and dignity.

Allegedly, the officer also posted personal Facebook comments, resulting in "a conflict of interest with her position as a member of the Queensland Police Service".
