Pregnancy fails to stop drinking
PREGNANT Australian women who smoke are more likely to drink during their term, and 40-80% of all expectant women do so, whether they smoke or don't, a study has found.
The study of about 17,000 women in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK found Ireland had the highest rates of drinking during pregnancy.
Across all countries studied, between 15% and 70% of women said they had one or two drinks a week during the first trimester, but that dropped for all women in the second and third trimester.
