Pregnant woman flown to hospital after snake bite

A HEAVILY-PREGNANT woman has been flown to hospital after being bitten on the foot while in the kitchen.

The Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service flew the woman's home on a property near Mitchell on the Western Downs to airlift the 45-year-old.

The mother of three who is eight months pregnant is thought to have been bitten on the left foot by a mulga snake.

She was treated at the scene by CareFlight's critical care medical team and flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
