Premier Barry O’Farrell hooked on Madura Tea
STEPHEN Bright and Gary Davey from Murwillumbah success story Madura Tea enjoyed a cuppa with the Premier of NSW Barry O'Farrell at Parliament House last week.
The invitation to visit the highest office in the state came after Stephen met the premier at a function and shared with him the story of the multi-award winning drop owned and produced by four local families at their Clothiers Creek estate.
Mr O'Farrell has since taken such a shine to Madura tea that it's now stocked in Parliament House as well as his own home.
"By serving Madura tea at NSW Parliament House we are doing our bit to support local jobs and the economy in the Tweed Valley - and providing our guests with a tea that is bursting with flavour," said Mr O'Farrell in a press release issued following the afternoon tea.
The Speaker of the NSW Parliament, Shelley Hancock, who also enjoyed a cuppa with Gary and Stephen along with the Member for Tweed Geoff Provest, has also become a fan.
"We take great pride in serving up the very best produce NSW has to offer in our dining room, cafe and at catered functions and Madura tea has already become a favourite," Mrs Hancock said.
Mr Davey said their long term goal was to infiltrate every government office in the land with their tea.
