Primary schools shine at performing arts festival

YESTERDAY was day 11 of the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts when the focus was on primary schools.

Schools from around the district performed in choirs, recorder ensembles, vocal duets and vocal Solo's to a large crowd at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre.

Festival president Heather Martin said, "The festival has been fantastic and the volunteers superb."

"The Piano championships on Sunday were world class standard "she said.

During the final of the junior piano championships on Sunday the adjudicator was reduced to tears and said if you close your eyes (Talking about the winner) it could have been any professional performer in the world.
