Program celebrates being a man
A HEALTH program highlighting men's health will be launched in Tweed Heads in June.
Celebrating Men is all about making men aware of how much they can contribute to their community, their families, their friends and themselves by engaging in fulfilling activities to promote and empower health and wellbeing.
Planned for Sunday, June 16 at the HACC centre, Tweed Heads South the event is part of national Men's Health Week, promoting physical and mental wellbeing.
"Celebrating Men is about creativity, expression and having fun, with activities including music, singing, live art as well as activities for dads and kids and the promotion of healthy eating and lifestyles, including simple health checks," said spokesman John Pitt.
"This is the first time this one-day event will be run in the Tweed and has the support of many community groups including OnTrack, Community Options and medical and allied health professionals.
"The event is also being promoted by the Tweed and Murwillumbah Community Men's Sheds, but is inclusive of all men, partners and their friends and families."
