Beachfront sale at Casuarina Beach
POTENTIAL home-owners at Casuarina Beach have been given the chance to secure beachfront homes at a greatly reduced price in what has been dubbed the “Ultimate Beachfront Sale”.
Twenty-one “Beach Shack” homes and 28 “Santai apartments” have been acquired by Casuarina Corporation and the liquidation of properties begins today.
At the peak of the property market in 2007, prices for a one-bedroom Santai apartment were about $350,000 and the Beach Shacks sold for an average of $480,000.
As part of the “Ultimate Beachfront Sale,” prices for the remaining properties start from $179,000.
Colliers International is marketing the campaign and stressed a better deal could not be found.
“These are prices that are simply unheard of at Casuarina Beach,” Colliers director of project marketing Brinton Keath said.
“They represent a genuine one-off opportunity for buyers, and some of the best value I have seen in a very long time.
“The average price for a home at Casuarina Beach is around $850,000, and this new campaign will allow people to snap up a free-standing home in the Beach Shacks precinct, within walking distance to the beach, for less than $300,000.”
“The Tweed Coast region is moving forward at such a rapid pace and has more than $11.5 billion worth of development planned or under way.”
“I doubt we will ever see a repeat of these prices again.”
The Santai apartments, located within the Balinese-inspired Grand Mercure Casuarina resort, range from $179,000 to $219,000 for one-bedroom apartments and $299,000 to $320,000 for two-bedroom apartments.
The Beach Shacks are private, free-standing two and three-bedroom homes located a short walk from the beach and are priced from $259,000.
