Well, veteran trainer Craig McGarry has issued a challenge to athletes across the Tweed - prove it!
“There are plenty of people out there who think they're pretty fit,” he said.
“But I defy anyone to find this challenge easy and not notice the results.”
The Casuarina Beach Rec Club is set to launch a new six-week extreme fitness challenge, with McGarry, world ironman champion Trevor Hendy and super trainer Penny Dustow leading the way.
Traditionally the club has run 12-week programs for all fitness levels, hosting 14 successful challenges at the recreation facility in the past five years.
However, this time around it's a fast and furious but shorter challenge for those in a little better shape than most.
McGarry, Rec Club manager, believes the challenge is a perfect way for people to take charge of their lives both physically and mentally, while staying motivated during the cooler months.
“The extreme challenge is for intermediate to advanced athletes,” he said.
“It's a great way to achieve personal goals, maximise fitness levels and gain a further insight into healthy, nutritious lives.
“It's perfect for people wanting to push their existing fitness levels to new limits - whether you're on your own, with a friend or work group, we cater for everyone.”
On top of the weekly sessions, clients will receive a six-week full gym membership at the Rec Club, singlet and diary, and undertake body assessments and strength and endurance testing.
Throughout the challenge, clients will train every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6am to 7am with the three professional trainers.
The Rec Club recently launched a $1.5 million extension which has seen the construction of an indoor salt water 'Learn to Swim' heated pool, group training area, an upgrade to the existing gym and change rooms and extra weight training equipment.
