Queensland girls set to make their mark

THE Queensland Under 18 Youth Girls team will take on a strong Victorian team in the second of two Interstate Challenge matches at Coolangatta Australian Football Club this afternoon.

The Queenslanders played the first game on Saturday and will be much the better for the hit out.

As the only two states with underage representative football at this level, the results from last year's Challenge favoured the girls from the south.

The Queensland team, captained by Open All-Australian representative Katie Brennan includes three other Open State team members.

The Gold Coast is also well represented with Cleo Davis from Trinity College and Helensvale SHS students April Vaughan and Jane Jacobs all competing in the scheduled matches this weekend.

The match this afternoon gets underway at 11am at Len Peak Oval, Kirra, so come along and cheer the girls on.
