Quota International meet to spread Craft Fair Funds
QUOTA International of Tweed Heads/Coolangatta held their monthly meeting this month at the South Tweed Sports Club to deliver proceeds from their successful Annual Craft Fair.
Proceeds from their Annual Craft Fair and the Annual Quilt Raffle were made to representatives of worthy organisations.
Craft Fair St Joseph's Youth Service at Tweed Heads received $4000 which was accepted by John Storey and Gerina Appo.
Dr Jan Stenton received $2000 on behalf of the Hear & Say Centre at Varsity Lakes.
The Quilt Raffle beneficiary was Multiple Sclerosis Queensland and the donation of $2700 was accepted by John O'Dempsey, a member of the Gold Coast Support Group.
"The evening was attended by ladies interested in joining our Club and becoming involved in supporting local organisations with the fundraising we do throughout the year as well as the 'hands-on' volunteer work we do," Publicity Officer of Quota International Tweed Heads/Coolangatta Inc Pam Ganderton said.
"Some of this is serving breakfast at the Coolangatta State School, helping with the annual stocktake at the Tweed Valley Early Childhood Centre and making comfort toiletry bags for victims of abuse at the hospital and men's refuge centre."
