Raid uncovers gun, silencer and drugs

A GUN, silencer, stun gun and drugs have been netted in a raid on a Pacific Pines property on the northern Gold Coast.

Detectives from Task Force Resolve, with the state’s drug investigation unit, searched a Chesterton St home early on Friday morning.

They say they found cannabis, methylamphetamine, a hand gun, silencer, ammunition, Taser, balaclavas, baton and cash during the search.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with possess cannabis, possess methylamphetamine, possess utensil, possess a firearm, possess restricted item and possess tainted property, and has been remanded in custody until he faces court on Thursday.

A 25-year-old woman has also been charged with drugs and weapons offences and was expected to face Southport Magistrates Court yesterday.

Taskforce Resolve was established to examine the region’s most violent armed robberies, after the shooting of Gold Coast police detective Damian Leeding.
