Rain looks set to keep falling until Sunday

THE Tweed is experiencing more rain this week after the downpour it received from ex-cyclone Oswald.

Tweed residents can breathe a sigh of relief with only 20mm expected over the course of the week, compared to the 132mm that fell last Monday.

However a rainy weekend is likely.

Weatherzone meteorologist Ben Domencino said conditions were typical for this time of year.

"Every day this week showers are expected to be light," he said.

"Less than 5mm of rain is expected each day, the heaviest it will reach is 10mm in a day and conditions are expected to clear by Sunday."

"There's a low risk of thunderstorms."

The rain is said to come from on-shore winds generated by a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea and is not linked to ex-cyclone Oswald.
