Rare used 2008 Koenigsegg CCX a bargain at $1.2 million
HERE is what is most likely Australia's most expensive used car, the 2008 Koenigsegg CCX.
Many people haven't heard of the brand, that's understandable as they are a small car company from Sweden, and they have made just over 100 cars in total.
Yes, that is not a typo, and this is compared to Ford which makes 100 cars in just 16 minutes.
Although, this isn't just your average Ford with 130 horsepower. The 4.7-litre, 32 valve twin supercharged V8 engine in this beast produces an astonishing 601 kilowatts (806 brake-horsepower) at 7000rpm and 920 Newton metres of torque (693 pound-feet of torque) at 5500rpm.
Thanks to its carbon fibre body reinforced with Kevlar and aluminium honeycomb, it has a dry weight of just 1250 kilograms.
All of this allows the Koenigsegg CCX to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in just 3.2 seconds, and it will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of 395-plus kilometres per hour (245+ miles per hour).
This is only about 12 kilometres per hour (8 miles per hour) short of a 1001 horsepower Bugatti Veyron...so not too bad if you ask me.
Christian von Koenigsegg first brought the company to life back in 1994 when he pursued his mission to create the perfect supercar. Two years later, he had come up with the CC Prototype and one year after that, he took it to the 1997 Cannes Film Festival in order to build a customer base.
Every single Koenigsegg that has been created has been completely hand made, and the reliability shows as Christian is still driving his CC Prototype almost 18 years later.
Some other features that this particular Koenigsegg is equipped with includes (awesome) "dihedral synchro-helix" actuation doors, a removable hardtop glass roof, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, a hydraulic lifting system, and much more.
Out of all the Koenigsegg's made, this is currently the only one in Australia, and you can buy this exact model for $1,200,000 AUD.
