Red Shield Appeal is back

THE great thing about the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal, apart from the obvious help to families in need, is the chance to fill your winter wardrobe for a song.

"It's a win win situation," said manager of the Tweed Heads Salvation Army Super Store, Janelle Boyle.

"We have a huge range of clothing, furniture and all sorts of things at 50 per cent off next Saturday.

"That means you can get everything you want all at once at a very reduced rate and you will be helping those less fortunate at the same time.

"That certainly takes away the guilt of spoiling yourself with lots of goodies."

The super store at Machinery Drive, Tweed Heads is like a walk-in supermarket.

The quality of the stock is "amazing," according to Ms Boyle.

"I shop here all the time," she said.

"Why pay a fortune when you can get quality and style?"

The Red Shield Appeal Sale runs from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, May 19.

If you donate a gold coin to the Red Shield Appeal, you will receive clothing for $2 and 50 per cent off furniture.

"There will be lots of other bargains storewide," Ms Boyle said.

A DVD explaining the concept of the Red Shield Appeal will be running at the store all through the next week.
