New retail hub for Reedy Creek

REEDY Creek shoppers will get a big new Christmas present by, err ... Christmas.

A new neighbourhood retail centre complete with a 2700sq m Woolworths and about six specialty retailers will open in December to service the Kingsmore, Observatory and surrounding communities.

Kingsmore spokesman Chris King said the new shopping precinct on the corner of Kingsmore Blvd and Old Coach Rd named Reedy Creek Village would be warmly welcomed by locals.

"This centre is great news for Reedy Creek residents who will now have their own convenience shopping centre close by as well as all the wider retail services on offer at Robina," Mr King said.

"Besides Woolworths, the centre will also have a Zarraffa's coffee shop, BWS liquor store, bakery, fast food outlet, and possible pharmacy with doctors on site.

"It all adds up to much greater shopping choice for the residents of the growing Reedy Creek community."

Stockland's Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales regional manager David Laner said residents of The Observatory would be the big winners of Reedy Creek Village.

"The Observatory already offers a wide range of community facilities, such as parklands, picnic spots, barbecues, walking trails and a large off-leash dog area.

"Now our residents will enjoy convenient shopping just down the road from their homes, saving on travel time."

Reedy Creek is a highly popular new home destination because of its relaxed bushland feel yet close proximity to beaches, exclusive schools, shopping and other services.

"It is also close to the Pacific Motorway, the train station, a proposed transit oriented village development and it is also ideally located for families with many schools close by including Kings Christian College, Hillcrest Christian College, Gold Coast Christian College, Clover Hill State School, Robina State High School, All Saints Anglican School, Somerset College and Marymount Catholic College," Mr Laner said.
