HERE'S four fun ways to spend your weekend in Tweed ...

1. Musical star at Tyalgum

ON Saturday Hayden Tee, who will take on the starring role of Javert in the upcoming Australian production of Les Miserables in Melbourne, will perform only one other Australian concert when he returns from New York and it will be at Tyalgum Village Hall. Musically directed by Nigel Ubrihien, the show will also feature one of Sydney's newest and brightest shining stars, the multi-talented James Wright fresh from his recent win at the GLUG awards and star of the hit Jambles Ramble cabaret chat show. Flutterbies will be serving a two course pre-show dinner each night from 6pm, show starts at 8pm. Dinner and show, $95 per person; show $65. More info, Solar Chapel on 0448 713 241.

2. Relax with an arty movie

IF you are after a different cinema experience and you are into arthouse movies then head along to Cinemax Cinemas located at 60 Marine Pde, Kingscliff. This cinema is also licensed and offers an amazing choice of food. If it is a coffee you are after grab something sweet to have with it or if you want to go in the way of traditional grab some popcorn and a cold drink.

3. Catch up with Kasey Chambers

WHAT started as a small, boutique concert where artists and musicians became jamming mates in front of a small crowd of lucky punters on a private property in the Hunter Valley NSW, has now grown to a full scale extravaganza of wandering minstrels where artists play their own hits and also jam along with their friends on stage to their favourite songs. The Foggy Mountain Jam Tour is headlined by icons of Australian music with Kasey Chambers and Busby Marou, with exciting new comers Harry Hookey and Ashleigh Dallas completing the lineup. It's at Twin Towns this Sunday at 7pm. More info, twintowns.com.au.

4. Browse the markets

THE monthly Brunswick Heads markets (first Saturday of the month) are always popular and are a showcase of a huge range of locally made wares, plants, food, clothes, jewellery, soaps and candles, books, secondhand treasures. Bring the whole family for a morning of fun, shopping and relaxing by the sparkling Brunswick River. When you have finished shopping at the markets have a stroll up the road to the Hotel Brunswick, a classic Aussie pub offering great food and drinks in a leafy riverfront beer garden.
