Remembering mums no longer with us

This week's Mother's Day memorial service will be close to home for Tumbulgum pastor Rob Stuttle.

Mr Stuttle, whose own mum passed away in 2010, said the memorial would have special significance for him.

"It's two-fold for me," Mr Stuttle said.

"There's a number of different times in the year when I reflect on my mum and miss her greatly.

"When I shared last time I shared not only from the bible but from my heart."

Mr Stuttle said the inter-denominational service, held by Murwillumbah Churches Together, would give those involved the opportunity to light a candle in honour of their loved ones. He said the day was not only about mums, but offered a chance to pay homage to all loved ones who had passed on.

"I lost a very close friend last year," Mr Stuttle said.

"You can still go along if you've lost a son or a daughter or a father."

The service will be at Tweed Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens on Eviron Rd, Eviron from 11am Friday, May 8.
