Melbourne Renegades looking for win at pace

MELBOURNE Renegades will hit Sydney Thunder with a full pace arsenal with Test speedsters James Pattinson and Peter Siddle and another paceman, Nathan Rimmington, spearheading their attack at Etihad Stadium tonight in search of a breakthrough win.

It's a pace battery capable of carving up any of the Big Bash League sides and playing at home is just the tonic, according to Renegades skipper Aaron Finch.

Finch conceded his side was "comprehensively beaten" last game by the Perth Scorchers but felt things didn't quite go their way with the ball.

"Twenty20 can go one or two ways really quickly," he said after the loss.

"I thought we bowled well with the new ball, but just could not get that early breakthrough you need but we were only one or two percent off the mark."

Pattinson's return from a back injury has been eagerly awaited, while Siddle is available after failing to make the Boxing Day Test side.

The speed trio come in for Andrew Fekete, Nick Winter and Tom Beaton.

Finch said he hoped a big home crowd could help the Renegades get their first win on the board.
