Review looks into response to Ravenshoe cafe explosion

THE Queensland Government has launched a review into a cafe explosion that killed two people and injured a further 18 in far north Queensland earlier this year.

The blast at Ravenshoe, caused by a vehicle crashing into a gas bottle, triggered one of the largest aeromedical retrieval of burns victims in the Queensland's history

Health Minister Cameron Dick says an independent reviewer will be appointed to look at the health system's response to the explosion.

A report will be made public by the end of the year.
