Reward offered for info on murder of NSW man
HOMICIDE detectives still trying to find a motive for the execution-style murder of a NSW man more than 27 years ago, have welcomed a $100,000 government reward for anyone with information.
Fishermen discovered the body of Ali Sonmez floating in the Darling River, about 20km north of Wentworth, on the morning of January 26, 1986.
He had been shot several times.

Friends and family told police Mr Sonmez had left his home at Mildura three days beforehand.
The night he disappeared, a witness saw him at Commercial St, Merbein, arguing with a man, who was in the company of two women, outside the local post office.
Detective Chief Inspector John Lehmann from the unsolved homicide team said on Thursday that how Mr Sonmez's body came to be found approximately 50km away from where he was last seen, and why he was targeted remained a mystery.
He said police had released comfit images of the man and women seen outside the post office and an artist impression of a green Holden HQ with a white roof in the hope someone would come forward.
A photograph of a man found in the glove box of Mr Sonmez's car shortly after his death has also been released.
