Extreme luxury: Our pick of lavish dream homes

If budget wasn't an issue, what would your dream house be like?

In Perth, mining magnate Chris Ellison bought a Mosman Park mansion in Perth for $57.5 million from iron-ore heiress Angela Bennett. The riverfront mansion has three buildings, a private jetty, boathouse, gym, pool, tennis court and cinema.

Recently, Australian property tycoon Harry Stamoulis who spent $24 million for a top-notch land in Melbourne is said to have upgraded the house with a $40 million bill.

In Britain, one of the most expensive houses was a mid-terraced home in Mayfair which had 21 bedrooms and space for four limousines in its garage. But that's nothing compared to the world's most expensive house - the Antilia (above).

The 60-level residence is owned by Mukesh Ambani, and has 600 employees to maintain it. Antilia was reportedly worth $500-700 million at the early stages of its construction however, it is now believed to be worth $1 billion. As of November 2014, it is considered to be the world's second most expensive residential property after Buckingham Palace.

But what is making it so expensive? The majestic mansion has 27 habitable floors, six parking floors for 168 cars, a movie theatre, a health club, pool, gardens, three helipads, a snow room, nine elevators and much more.

There are some amazing homes on sale right now in regions outside of metro areas. Here are our top 10 favourites:
