Roar teen on way to top German club

PROMISING Brisbane Roar striker Kwame Yeboah is set to join Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach, subject to passing a medical.

The 19-year-old (pictured) has flown to Europe to complete formalities with the German club ahead of the January transfer window.

"As a club, we will not stand in the way of opportunities like this for our young players," Roar football director Ken Stead said.

"It's a great achievement for Brisbane Roar to see so many former players excelling in top leagues overseas and as part of the Socceroos." The former Gold Coast United youth player will miss Brisbane's match against Newcastle at Suncorp Stadium tonight, but will be available for selection for the away match against Sydney FC on Boxing Day.

Yeboah has scored two outstanding goals from just nine appearances in the national competition this season, against Central Coast and Western Sydney.
