Robber threatens worker with knife

A MAN wielding a knife threatened a man and demanded money in Palm Beach on Thursday night.

About 2.45am a man approached the front doors of a locked Gold Coast Hwy business.

"The store attendant unlocked the door and the man walked around the story for a few moment before approaching the counter and producing a knife while making demands for money," a police spokesman said.

"The store attendant handed over money from the till and cigarettes."

The offender, who is believed to be 18-years-old, fled the store and returned moments later and demanded more cigarettes.

The attendant obliged and the man fled the scene.

He was last seen running in a westerly direction along 19th Ave.

The armed robber was described as Caucasian, 165cm tall and of slim build.

He was in a black hooded jacket, black shorts and dark tinted sunglasses.
