Robert Allenby cops late-night arrest outside US casino

AUSTRALIAN golfer Robert Allenby -- who was last year caught up in a bizarre kidnapping saga -- has been arrested outside a US casino after failing to make the cut in the John Deere Classic.

Allenby, 45, was arrested at 2.30am outside Jumer's Casino in Rock Island, Illinois, and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.

His bond was set at US$1500, according to local television reports.

Allenby missed the cut at by three strokes after making an even-par 142.

In early 2015, Allenby was discovered with serious bruising a few hours after he visited a restaurant with friends in Hawaii.

At the time he claimed he was abducted and assaulted.

A Hawaii man has since been sentenced to five years in prison for using the golfer's credit cards and identification.
