Robina couple win $1mil

A RETIRED Robina couple is now almost $1 million richer thanks to a Gold Lotto win.

The pair took home $968,750 in Gold Lotto's $31 Million New Year's Eve Megadraw.

"We've always dreamed of winning division one, but when it happened it felt quite surreal," they said.

"We've been playing Gold Lotto every Wednesday and Saturday for as long as we can recall."

The couple plan to spend their winnings on a holiday, helping family and topping up their retirement fund.

They purchased their winning QuickPick from Nextra Robina, which sold two of the Gold Coast's three division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto's $31 Million New Year's Eve Megadraw.

The other division one winning entry was purchased from newsXpress The Pines in Elanora.

While it was registered to a Winners Circle card, Golden Casket has not yet been able to contact the winner.

Louise Azzopardi, Golden Casket public relations executive, urged customers who bought Megadraw entries from newsXpress The Pines in Elanora to contact Gold Coast immediately.

"You could be starting 2012 $968,750 richer," she said.
