Shooting accused faces court

THE bikie accused of shooting two people at Robina Town Centre  has faced court this morning.

A heavy police presence surrounded Southport Magistrates Court this morning when Mark Graham, a patched Finks bikie gang member, made his first court appearance.

Graham is accused of shooting a Bandidos member and an innocent bystander at Robina Town Centre last Saturday.

Police checked each person as they walked into the court and five officers surrounded the dock where a heavily tattooed Graham sat.

Graham only glanced once at the public  gallery where hordes of media watched on and kept his glance on the court proceedings.

The prosecution made an application to have any images of Graham, 26, suppressed for the next 72 hours in the interest of his safety and his family's.

Police prosecutor Peta Eyschen said there was a concern his image being used in media could taint evidence in the case.

However, Senior Sergeant Eyschen withdrew her application after a short adjournment when she couldn't provide justification to the Magistrate.

Graham was arrested in Melbourne this week and extradited to Queensland under heavy police guard last night.

He is charged with several offences including attempted murder.

The case was adjoined until June 13.
