Robina TC stage 2 opens April 2

THE final touches are being made to Robina Town Centre's $300 million redevelopment, due to open on Thursday, April 2.

The huge shopping centre's stage two expansion will include Australia's largest Big W, a second Woolworths supermarket, Queensland's largest Country Road store and more than 100 specialty retailers.

Dining is also back on the menu at Robina Town Centre, with a 900-seat food court, to be known as the Food Atrium.

Robina Town Centre manager Ian Ferguson said the stage two opening was the culmination of many years of planning, design and construction.

“Together with an outstanding array of fashion and food retailers, stage two will deliver over 1100 new car parks adjacent to Big W and Woolworths with the latest 'Park Assist' technology,” Mr Ferguson said.

“Robina Town Centre is the first shopping centre in Queensland to introduce this highly sophisticated parking guidance system, already in use at our David Jones car park, which uses a series of messaging signals and individual LED lights to guide customers quickly and smoothly to the first available spot.

“Visitors to the new expansion will be able to access it easily from the newly-created Collyer Quays northern link, which connects to Robina Town Centre Drive.

“The new four-lane link road enables shoppers to drive the entire circumference of the centre.”

Robina Town Centre's stage three redevelopment, a dining and entertainment precinct, is due to open in mid-2009.
