Rockliff handed Lions captaincy all on his own

DUAL club best-and-fairest Tom Rockliff has become just the fourth player after Michael Voss, Jonathan Brown and Jed Adcock to be given sole captaincy of the Brisbane Lions.

The 24-year-old averaged a league-high 32.7 disposals and 9.1 tackles a game in 2014, winning a second club champion trophy, as well as the players' player award, members' player of the year, and the Shaun Hart most competitive player award.

He was also named in his first All-Australian team.

Rockliff (pictured) said he was thrilled with the appointment, adding he believed the club was on the verge of again being a competitive force.

"The Lions have shown an enormous amount of faith in me over the years and I want to continue to repay that by leading this group to success," Rockcliff said.

Daniel Rich, Pearce Hanley and Dayne Zorko were named vice-captains.
