Truck rolls over in wet weather, spills oil

UPDATE, 8.20PM: A HEAVY vehicle crane has been used in an attempt to right a B-Double truck which rolled over at Clarenza this afternoon.

Police said the vehicle had been driving south on the Pacific Highway about 4.15pm, when it failed to negotiate a left hand turn onto Centenary Drive in wet weather.

The truck landed on its side, causing oil and diesel to spill onto the road and surrounding land.

Luckily, the truck driver was not injured in the crash, and HAZMAT crews were on scene to contain any spills.

It is believed the road has re-opened and an investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
