Rumours Folau will be flying on the wing for Wallabies

ISRAEL Folau's stunning rise in rugby union is set to continue today, with the Waratahs fullback to be named on the right wing against the British and Irish Lions in Brisbane on Saturday night.

Reports yesterday suggested Folau would be one of three Wallabies debutants, joining Brumbies teammates Christian Lealiifano and Ben Mowen.

Kingaroy-raised Berrick Barnes will be given first shot at the fullback jersey, while Kurtley Beale's national return is likely to come from the bench.

James O'Connor will be the five-eighth.

Yamba product Kane Douglas will partner James Horwill in the second row, and Wycliff Palu has shrugged off a knee injury to play in the back row with Michael Hooper and Mowen.

Just five months after a shaky Super Rugby debut against the Reds at Suncorp Stadium, Folau's breathtaking form for the Tahs was too hard to ignore.

Lions assistant coach Rob Howley said Welsh winger George North (hamstring) would be available after passing a fitness test, while outside back Manu Tuilagi (shoulder) was "touch and go".
