Sacha finds her sea legs

FORMER Tweed Heads resident Sacha Lauder is making her mark in the Defence Force as a technical officers writer.
The Able Seaman Writer joined the Royal Australian Navy in June 2008 at the age of 24.
A Defence Force representative visited Kingscliff High School when she was in Grade 10 and planted the seed that would see her become the first of her family to enlist in the Australian Defence Force.
Now onboard HMAS Newcastle, her first sea posting after 12 weeks of recruit training and 11 weeks category specific training, Ms Lauder said she was enjoying her job and the unique lifestyle.
She returns home as much as possible to be with her 7-year-old daughter Hollie.
