Salt scores Ironman and Ironwoman trials for September
SALT beach on the Tweed has scored a major event in the 2013 Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman trials to be held on the weekend of September 14 and 15.
Top athletes and officials will attend the weekend, which is an open qualifier for the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman Series, where lifesavers from all over Australia compete to join the top ten pre-qualifiers from last year's series.
Destination Tweed CEO, Bill Tatchell is pleased with the announcement of the event and says it will bring economic benefit to the region.
"As the lead-in event for the series, the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman Series Trial traditionally attracts over 150 competitors and officials, accompanied by their families and supporters - most of whom will stay in the region for at least two nights," Mr Tatchell said.
Over the weekend there will be three races each for male and female competitors, with the top four men and top four women going on to compete in the 2013/14 Series.
