Samsung SMARTschool to improve STEM teaching

A model school that will be Australia's most technologically advanced teacher training and research centre will be built at UniSA's Magill campus.

The multi-million dollar Samsung SMARTSchool, a partnership between the university and the consumer technology giant, aims to transform science and maths teaching and will likely be the first of several at UniSA campuses across South Australia, The Advertiser reports.

To open in February, the school will be equipped with the latest technology, such as 360-degree cameras that allow children to create their own 3D and virtual reality environments, as well as "wearables" such as smartwatches.

It will have three large teaching spaces and outdoor areas, and will be available to both public and private schools for sessions up to a full day.
