THE Gold Coast Airport is giving visitors a warm Christmas welcome, with Santa on site until Christmas Eve.

Gold Coast Airport chief operating officer Paul Donovan said having Santa at the terminal would help to spread the festive cheer.

"December is one of the biggest months of the year for us and it's great to see the smiles on our passengers' faces, particularly the children, when they spot Santa in the terminal," Mr Donovan said.

"The positive feedback from our passengers is what keeps Santa coming back to the Gold Coast Airport each year.

"His deployment in the terminal is our way of wishing our passengers a Merry Christmas and thanking them for their patronage."

Mr Donovan said Santa would be on site from 7am-noon and 3.30-7.30pm until Tuesday.

He said Santa, who arrived at the airport on Monday, would be handing out goodies for travelling children.
