Ho ho ho, it's Santa to the rescue

IT'S beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Tweed Heads Fire Station.

Senior fire fighter Peter Sutherland spent a day this week decorating the first response fire truck with metres of coloured tinsel.

With inspiration from his years as a window decorator in Sydney, Mr Sutherland designed and re-arranged the decorations three times before the truck was unveiled.

"It's just a bit of fun but the kids love it," Mr Sutherland said.

"That's what makes it all worth it."

As the truck zooms past, keen observers will notice Santa strapped to the front of the truck while Rudolph hangs on for dear life at the back.

Mr Sutherland said both Santa and Rudolph had been safely secured.
