School captains brush up on skills

TWEED River High School’s newly elected School Captains for 2010 wore their badges proudly at the Impact Leadership Conference held at Twin Towns Resort on October 26.

Captains Jessie Skelly and Sharni Goldstone and vice captains Geoffrey Bonning and Caitlin McArthur joined other secondary schools in the Coolangatta and Tweed areas to lead their Student Representative Council through a number of skill-building exercises to prepare them for office next year.

Tweed River High SRC co-ordinator Elaine Cunningham said the workshop teaches students the core values of leadership so they can hit the ground running next year.

“They are an energetic and cohesive group,” said Mrs Cunningham.
