Scooter festival rides into town

THE village of Tumbulgum was kicked up a gear when it hosted the second annual scooter festival at the weekend.

One of the organisers Laura Williams said they were thrilled with the turnout.

“It was fantastic,” Ms Williams said. “The bands were brilliant and everyone loved the silent disco.

“A lot of the locals came down as well.”

This year’s event was open to all scooter riders, not just those with classic, geared scooters.

“Everyone met at the Tumbulgum Tavern on Saturday and we rode to Chillingham and back,” Ms Williams said.

All proceeds will go to the Queensland flood appeal.
