Screaming, knife-wielding Taylor Swift tops trending lists

EVERYONE is talking about Taylor Swift...again.

But this time it's because she has been screaming, crying and welding a butcher's knife.

Swift hit the top of Facebook's trending list earlier in the week when she released the music video for her song Blank Space.

In the film clip, directed by Joseph Kahn, Swift portrays a scorned lover, brandishing a knife, cutting up co-star, model Sean O'Pry's clothes and taking to his vintage car with a golf club.

Release of the video by Swift prompted a flood of tweets on Twitter with the hashtag #BLANKSPACEMUSICVIDEO.

Many fans used the tag to share their favourite moments from the clip.

So did many celebrities and media outlets.

One media organisation even went so far as to say Swift's latest video has "changed the world for ever by smashing every paradigm".

While Taylor Swift was stabbing a cake in her music video, cake was also trending on social media this week.

Jennifer Lawrence hit the top of trending lists when a British baker immortalised the Hunger Games star in sponge cake.

The media picked up the story when the 28-year-old baker, Lara Clark won a gold medal at the decorative exhibit section of the Cake International competition for her life-sized cake of Lawrence's Hunger Games character, Katniss Everdeen.
