Reports of whale caught in shark nets

SEA World is investigating reports at least one whale has become trapped in shark nets off Broadbeach.

An offshore commotion thought to be a whale in distress was spotted from the beach around 5.45am.

It is understood to be near the Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club.

Sea World is investigating the reports.
