Faithful dog stayed by missing woman's side overnight

UPDATE: Police have reported the woman who was lost in the Cordalba State Forest overnight had fallen from her bike, was knocked unconscious and later became disorientated.

The 39-year-old Apple Tree Creek woman spent the night with her Hungarian Vizsla dog.

At first light this morning she walked out, met Childers SES crews and was taken to Childers Hospital.

FIRST UPDATE: A woman reported missing in the Cordalba State Forest overnight has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.

The woman made contact with searchers on Monday morning about 7.20am.

EARLIER: A large -scale search is under way on Monday morning for a woman missing in the Cordalba State Forest north of Childers.

The 39-year-old Childers woman was last seen at midday on Sunday when she left home to go bike riding with her dog.

Police and SES launched a full-scale search at first light and have located the woman's car.

There are concerns she may be suffering hypothermia as all her warm clothes are inside her vehicle.
