Seawolves must win final

KINGSCLIFF Seawolves player-manager Col Ashton is confident his pack will be howling with delight at the end of an expected torrid 90 minutes of football when they meet Richmond Rovers in Monday’s Anzac Cup football clash in Lismore.

Seawolves and Rovers match up in the Men’s Open B final at 12.30pm. The match has been transferred to Neilson Park from Crozier Field.

“We have been playing pretty good football over the past few weeks and we have been further strengthened by the return of three key players to the line-up,” Ashton said.

Back in the team are fullback Jared Humes, right-half Steve Taylor and centre-half Jimmy Henzell.

The Seawolves line-up is: Aaron Herton, Bob Smith, Danny Warner, Barry Dickerson, Ben Hall, Guy O’Brien, Eddie Brierley, Jim Henzell, Col Ashton, Jared Humes, Steve Taylor, Scott Finlayson, Peter Howlett, Tom Hynes, Simon Westerweller, Mark Briggs and Paul Dell.

A coach will convey the team and supporters across to Lismore, departing Reg Dalton Oval at 10.30am.

All other games on the action-packed Anzac Cup and Callan McMillan (women) finals card will be played at Lismore’s Oakes Oval. 12.15pm Women’s Div B: Bangalow v Ballina. 2.15pm Men’s Open A: Lennox Head v Bangalow. 4.30pm Women’s Div A: Alstonville v Richmond Rovers. 6.45pm Men’s Premier: Goonellabah v Lismore Thistles.
