TWEED Greens Party councillor Katie Milne has again been hauled over the coals by other councillors for allegedly issuing an email which contained secret information.

Councillors went into a behind-closed-doors session on Tuesday after choosing applicants for the controversial joint planning panel to grill Cr Milne over distribution of confidential information concerned the bizarre delays in considering those applicants.

Yesterday they were reluctant to talk about the closed doors session for fear of themselves breaching secrecy provisions of their code of conduct but revealed it concerned the distribution of an email from Cr Milne.

But the closed-doors meeting was just the start of several heated hours which culminated with two councillors, Warren Polglase and Phil Youngblutt, walking out of a later workshop session.

Cr Dot Holdom, who asked councillors to go into the confidential session to discuss the code of conduct yesterday, declined to elaborate saying: “That's a private matter between councillors”.

Cr Milne, who previously ran foul of fellow councillors by releasing details of unpopular plans to sell-off part of Bay Street in central Tweed Heads, was unavailable for comment yesterday.
