Club finances spot on
A MURWILLUMBAH club has received an award for outstanding management of finances from a New South Wales club association.
ClubsNSW praised the Murwillumbah Service Club board and management for their scrutinising of financial objectives.
The association said the award for Outstanding Financial Management was given because the board was able to achieve balance between maximising profits, providing quality facilities, outstanding service and strong community support.
Murwillumbah Service Club CEO Guy Diven said the board was ecstatic when they found out about the award.
“It’s a reflection of all of our hard work,” he said.
ClubsNSW CEO Anthony Ball said Murwillumbah Service Club and other local clubs were deserving of their awards.
“They’re true success stories due to staff dedication, thoughtful operations and upholding what is best for their Club, its members and the broader community,” he said.
The award is in addition to a number of accolades already plastered on the club website.
“The club was inducted in the hall of fame in 2009 ,” Mr Diven said.
After a series of victories the club chose not to nominate itself for any awards in 2010.
But after this year’s success the club is hungry for more awards
Mr Diven, already in his eighth year at the club, hopes to be at the helm to win more awards in the future.
“I’ll be here for as long as the board lets me stay,” he said.
