Seven teens charged over police chase

SEVEN teenagers, including a 13-year-old boy, have been charged after a two-hour police chase across Brisbane yesterday involving two luxury cars allegedly stolen on Sunday night.

The teenagers face a string of charges including burglary, failing to stop a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The charges stem from a dramatic police chase yesterday - which was broadcast on live television - involving a a white BMW four-wheel-drive X5 and a black BMW Z4 coupe racing across a dozen Brisbane suburbs including Redbank Plains, Acacia Ridge, Mt Gravatt, Carindale, Coorparoo, South Brisbane, West End, Toowong, Taringa and Oxley.

Police will allege several attempts were made to intercept the vehicles at various locations across the Ipswich, Oxley, South Brisbane and Brisbane west districts.

The chase ended about 5.30pm when one car was stopped in Mount Ommaney and the other in Forest Lake almost simultaneously.
