Tweed mum wins $10,000 worth of groceries
FAANOI Lesoa believes in giving more than she takes and now, after winning $10,000 worth of Woolworths shopping vouchers, the Tweed resident intends to share the love.
Ms Lesoa looks after the elderly as part of her job with On Track Northern Rivers and now all her clients, who are over 80 years old, are set to benefit from her recent win.
"All my clients are elderly and they will definitely receive some of my winnings because I never say no to people in need and give with one hand and get given in the other hand."
Recently undergoing successive surgeries for breast cancer, she has not had the best year, even if she will not tell you herself.
"I was saying to my son no presents for me this year because of my sickness and then I win this," Ms Lesoa said.
Her son Paull has just got his P plates and will be able to use some of his mum's winnings for fuel, but Ms Lesoa says she intends on giving lots away to others.
As if dealing with cancer and working was not enough, Ms Lesoa has been studying a Bachelor of Social Welfare which she will be finished next year.
Asked what she might want to get for herself with the winnings, the possibility of a few nice desserts came to her mind.
"Chocolates, Christmas cakes, wine, brandy custards ... " she said.
Ms Lesoa said she wanted to hand out lots of the cards to friends by Christmas - about 10% of her winnings.
"So friends first then me second," she said.
Woolworths Centro Tweed manager Anthony Daros was over the moon after meeting the prize recipient.
"After meeting her I don't think there could have been a better recipient and it is very nice to be able to give something back to the community," Mr Daros said.
