AN ORIENTATION morning tea for the Showgirl and Junior Showgirl entrants was held on Sunday where the girls were handed there sashes for the Murwillumbah Show starting on November 1.

The morning tea took place at the Function Room at the Showground so the girls could meet for the first time and get some tips on their duties for the day.

Last year had two entrants in the show girl competition with this year having the junior show girl competition for the first time.

"This year will have seven show girls and eight junior show girls," show girl entrant Ema Marks said.

"Today is also a day for the Show Society to meet all the girls."

The show girl is a state wide competition but the junior show girl is just a Murwillumbah competition.

The winner of the Murwillumbah show girl competition will go down to Taree NSW in February to compete in this zone and if successful there will go into the state final at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
