Show to go by hook or crook

THE tale of the boy who never wanted to grow up will hit stages in the Tweed next month.

Northern Rivers Ballet Company will elegantly perform the classic story of Peter Pan and Friends through ballet dance.

An exerpt from the classical ballet La Bayadere, The Kingdom of the Shades, will also be performed.

Both performances were choreographed by studio principal and artistic director Fiona Munroe who herself was a professional ballet dancer.

Renowned choreographer and finalist in the TV smash hit So You Think You Can Dance, Renee Helenaz, also produced a third piece called Enrapture.

"This is a theatrical, contemporary style of choreography, which highlights the versatility of the 25 highly trained dancers performing in this production," Ms Munroe said.

Studio principal and artistic director Fiona Munroe said the talented dancers were eager to perform.

"They're very much getting excited and a little anxious at the final stages and polishing up," she said.

The performers range from eight-years-old to 15-years-old.

In the past 12 years more than 20 dancers trained by Ms Munroe have been accepted into ballet and dance companies around the world.

You can catch the performances at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre on October 12 at 7pm.

Or at the Tweed Civic Centre on October 13 at 7.30pm with a 1.30pm preview show.
