Sims a chance to line up for new club

DRAGONS mid-season signing Tariq Sims could play for his new club as early as tomorrow night, against the Storm back in the familiar surroundings of WIN Stadium.

Sims is an Illawarra junior and was a ball boy at the club with younger brother and Newcastle Knights star Korbin, when older sibling Ashton played for the Red V.

The former Newcastle and Cowboys back-rower’s signing is a boost for the Dragons’ finals hopes, the team sitting in 11th with six wins and seven losses.

“The mentality the Dragons pack has is one not to be messed with,” Sims said.

“Hopefully I can add a bit of mongrel and spark.”

For the Storm, halfback Cooper Cronk and hooker Cameron Smith are away in the Queensland camp.

Regular five-eighth Blake Green has been shifted to halfback despite missing last week with a calf injury.

Tohu Harris has been named at five-eighth and Kenny Bromwich has been named to start at hooker in place of Smith.
